The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice qualification is aimed at candidates who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures day-to-day in their organization.

Upon successful completion of the NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety, candidates can apply for IOSH membership at Grad IOSH level and upon completion of an “initial Professional Development”; the membership can be upgraded to CMIOSH.
NVQ level 6 health and safety qualification is needed by Company Directors, Advisors, Health and Safety Managers and Supervisors, as well as by those responsible for implementing and ensuring the maintenance of adequate and legally compliant health and safety policies within a company or business. This high level qualification is ideal if you are currently in a health and safety role and wanting to progress your career. Delegates are assessed by distance learning workplace assessment via our learning portal for this qualification. This Prequel qualification has replaced the NVQ Level 5 Health and Safety.

How do you obtain this NVQ Health and Safety?

To achieve this full Level 6 NVQ health and safety qualification you must demonstrate your competency, knowledge and understanding by completing the ten mandatory units. Most importantly this qualification allows you to learn, develop and practice skills required for employment and/or career progression at your own pace. Candidate scan attain certification within three months of beginning the health and safety NVQ, or they can spread the overall qualification over a two-year period, depending on their needs, time and learning abilities. Work based product evidence and reflective accounts are uploaded in the learning portal which will be marked by a tutor. Once your tutor is satisfied as to your competency, the work is forwarded to an internal assessor who will confirm that the qualification can be appropriately awarded. This is to prevent delays obtaining your certificate from the Awarding Body.
STUDY SYLLABUS
There are 10 mandatory units you must study, which cover a broad range of topics ranging from, promoting positive safety culture, to developing emergency procedures.

8.Develop and implement health and safety emergency response systems and procedures
9.Develop and implement health and safety review systems
10.Maintain knowledge of improvements to influence health and safety practice
